K-Beauty

What’s The Big Deal With K-Beauty?

K-Beauty, or Korean makeup products, are all the rage right now. But what makes K-Beauty different from Western brands? What makes it so special? This blog explores the differences between K-Beauty and Western beauty products, including formulas, packaging, and price points.

What Makes K-Beauty Products Different From Western Products?

K-beauty is a term used to describe popular cosmetic products from South Korea. Popularized by many influential beauty bloggers, K-beauty has taken off in popularity thanks to its allure of fresh and effective products. From cleansers and toners to serums and moisturizers, K-beauty has it all! Here are three different aspects that makes K-beauty unique Korean brands tend to focus on ingredients rather than packaging. While western brands usually make their product look aesthetically pleasing, K-beauty focuses on what’s inside of their bottles rather than how it looks. This means that some of these products can be packaged in glass jars or boxes instead of plastic containers; although not necessarily more environmentally friendly, glass does ensure no harmful chemicals will leach into your skin care product over time.

Blackhead Clearing Masks

These face masks are especially popular for their ability to reduce blackheads.

These little bumps in your skin can be incredibly hard to get rid of, but masks like Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask work by pulling oil out of your pores and drying them out. Plus, charcoal has a natural way of drawing out impurities while also stimulating blood flow and giving your skin a healthy boost. Once these toxins are gone, you’ll have clearer, smoother skin!

Sunscreen & Daily Moisturizers

These are considered daily skincare products that you shouldn’t forget to apply, even if it’s winter. Sunscreen is important because protecting your skin from UV rays is crucial in preventing early signs of aging and wrinkles, whereas moisturizers are very important in keeping your skin hydrated throughout the year.

SPF & Sun Protection (Part 2)

Sunscreen protection is an essential part of any skin routine. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) numbers are a measure of how well a sunscreen can protect your skin from UVB rays, which are what causes sunburns and potentially harmful UVA rays. In order to determine if a sunscreen is giving you adequate protection, you should read its label carefully.

Face Masks For All Skin Types

If you’re new to K-beauty, know that your skin type doesn’t matter. One of our favorite reasons for using these DIY face masks is that they really don’t discriminate—they can be used on anyone and everyone. From dry to oily, normal to sensitive, K-beauty has something special for every kind of skin. Part 1 of a 4 part series focusing on different aspects of Kbeauty! Enjoy!
